If you follow Hockey, and I feel for you, I truly do, then you know that it is the beginning of playoff season, and there is absolutely nothing in this world that takes longer than this sport. That is correct. You heard it here. Hockey is the world’s most convoluted and most dragged out sport of all. I actually detest it. It is a time suck like no other. I pray to the DVR gods every.single.day because they have saved my relationship with my son. I am dreading, absolutely dreading the beginning of hockey playoff season here. I am actually praying for the team to lose, not that I believe that God could possibly give a damn about hockey or any of that sort of stuff since I am assuming that God is busy with War and Peace and all, but just in case God is listening, I am praying that hockey is OVER. SOON. and that they LOSE here. Because I hate the discussions and constant figuring out how much time can be alloted to HOCKEY when there are more important things to do like LIVE.YOUR.OWN.LIFE. What? You mean you can attend school, take 6 difficult classes, study and do homework in those classes, practice baseball every.single.afternoon and play baseball games and then expect to watch all of the hockey games that seem to be neverending and ohsoimportant and actually get 8+ hours of sleep and have a girlfriend? Oh yeah and did I mention that baseball season began today and all of those games are so very important too? Oh thank you thank you DVR. I love you and I kiss you every.single.day. You lead me to green pastures and maketh me lie beside still waters. You allow me to say to the boy, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of sports televised activities, I shall fear no evil. For the DVR art with me. Thy ability to digitally record all events and then be watched within a set amount of time such as ONE HOUR comforts me.” It is a cruel world when one neverending season such as hockey is continuing and another neverending season such as baseball begins. There should be some sort of rule about this. Oh yeah. I forgot to even talk about March Madness. UGH.
